Good Morning PAC-5

Last night around 11:00pm officers from the Central District, to include Bikes, K-9, and Patrol, conducted a surveillance operation in the downtown area in response to increase incidents of larcenies from motor vehicles.  During this operation, multiple 911 calls were received of a suspect entering vehicles along W. Main and N. Duke Street.

The suspect, Pythoon Taylor, was apprehended on Fernway St.   Property taken from a vehicle was recovered.  Taylor was charged with 3 counts of Larceny from Motor Vehicle.  He received a $3000.00 bond.

Investigators will be reviewing this arrest for connections to other active cases.

I want to acknowledge and thank those that called 911 in the moment that this activity was happening, as it allowed for the timely response of our officers.  Remember to keep valuables out of plain view in vehicles and report suspicious activity.

Lastly, I would like to publicly thank the officers from 5C, Bike 20, and K-9 who participated in this operation.  The officers recognition of a problem, formulation of an action plan, utilization of resources, and excellent teamwork made this possible.

Thanks.
